What Happens When You Walk

Ever wondered what happens to your body when you start walking?

Here's a minute-by-minute rundown of the amazing chain reaction walking and exercise has upon your body, it's truly amazing!

Minutes 1 to 5

Your first few steps trigger the release of energy-producing chemicals in your cells to fuel your walk. Your heart rate revs-up from about 70 to 100 beats per minute (bpm), boosting blood-flow and warming muscles.

Any stiffness subsides as joints release lubricating fluid to help you move more easily. As you get moving, your body burns 5 calories per minute, compared with only 1 per minute at rest. Your body needs more fuel and starts pulling from its carbohydrates and fat stores.

Minutes 6 to 10

Heartbeat increases from 100 to about 140 bpm, and you're burning up to 6 calories a minute as you pick up the pace. A slight rise in blood pressure is countered by the release of chemicals that expand blood vessels, bringing more blood and oxygen to working muscles.

Minutes 11 to 20

Your body temperature keeps rising, and you start to perspire as blood vessels near the skin expand to release heat. As your walk becomes brisker, you'll be burning up to 7 calories a minute and breathing harder. Hormones such as epinephrine and glucagon rise to release fuel to the muscles.

Minutes 21 to 45

Feeling invigorated, you start to relax as your body releases tension, thanks in part to a dose of feel-good chemicals such as endorphins in your brain. As more fat is burned, insulin (which helps store fat) drops--excellent news for anyone battling excess weight or diabetes.

Minutes 46 to 60

Your muscles may feel fatigued as carbohydrates stores are reduced. As you cool down, your heart rate decreases and your breathing slows. You'll be burning fewer calories but more than you were before you started. Your calorie burn will remain elevated for up to 1 hour.

All this happens without a single conscious thought from us - the human body is amazing.

Cow - Animal with Specialities

“Cow is just an animal like a hen or goat... then why should one not kill and eat it?”

Cow is also an animal, but... a cow has many specialities that no other animal (not even human beings) has in this world. This is the reason that Hindus consider cow as ‘mother’ after their own mother, and pray to the cow with respect calling it “go-matha”.

These are some truths about go-matha.

·  If a cow eats something poisonous by mistake, and we drink its milk, will we fall ill? To find out, one cow was regularly fed a particular quantity of a poison every day. After 24 hours, its blood, urine, dung and milk were tested in a lab to check where the poison could be found. In this way, the tests were done not for 1 or 2 days, but continuously for 90 days in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi. The researcher did not find any trace of poison in milk, blood, urine or dung of that cow.

Then where did this poison fed for 90 days go? Just like Lord Shiva held poison in his throat, the go-matha hid the entire poison in her throat. This is a special quality that no other animal has.

·  This is the only creature that inhales oxygen and also exhales oxygen.

· Cow milk has the quality of countering poison.

·  There are diseases that medical science has not yet understood; urine of Go-matha has the power to cure them

·  If cow-ghee and rice are cooked together, two powerful gases called ethylene-oxide, propylene-oxide are released. Propylene-oxide is the best gas used for creating artificial rain.

·  Cow-urine is the world’s best killer of microbes

·  With medicines made using cow dung and cow urine, stomach-related ailments can be cured.

·  We can save ourselves from radio-waves by plastering the home floors and area outside home with cow-dung

· Cow-dung has the power to destroy the microbes causing cholera

· If 10 grams of cow-ghee is put in fire (yagnya), 1 ton of oxygen is generated

· Cow-urine is as sacred as ganga-jal

“Cow protection is the way that our species, our dharma will be protected. Cow-protection is no less than the need for independence.” - Mahatma Gandhi

Cow’s milk is tonic, its ghee is ambrosia and its meat is disease (Hazarat Mohamed)

Killing a cow is equivalent to killing a human (Jesus Christ)

Cow is a great boon to human society. Where a cow is looked after well, and protected, that country’s land will be great. Homes will prosper. Culture will progress. (Bernard Mike Faden)

The Quran does not encourage cow-slaughter (Hakeel Hajmal Khan)

Cow-slaughter is against the rules of Islam (Tauhin-e-Hind Bijaharu)

Can we see unity in diversity anywhere in the world other than in India? Whether we are a Hindu or a Muslim, or a Christian, as long as we live in our country, we are an Indian. Respecting the culture and tradition of our country is our dharma.

Freedom does not mean “live as we please”. It means living in a way that our country would like.

Salute to Go-Matha (Vande Go-matharam)

Importance of Day 9 of Navratri

Mahanavami
9th day of Navaratri
Color :Sky blue.

Devi Siddhidatri, the 8th manifestation of Devi Durga. Worshipped on the 9th day of Navaratri.

Worshippers and Devotees of Devi Durga wonderfully pay homage to Goddess Siddhidatri. The Goddess Siddhidatri is revered to all types of Siddhi (perfection) to her devotees. She appears in red Saree and  rides the Lion.

Maa Siddhidatri grants Her devotees all sorts of achievements and is capable of giving all sorts of occult powers. She is the possessor of 26 different wishes (Siddhis) which She grants Her worshipers. The legend has it that the Lord Shiva got all those Siddhis by worshipping Maa Shakti. With Her gratitude the half body of Lord Shiva became that of Maa Shakti, and therefore he was called as Ardhnarishvar.

This Avtar of Maa Durga removes ignorance and provides knowledge to Her devotees. She is also worshipped by Deva, Gandharva, Asura, Yaksha and Siddha. Maa sits on Kamal (Lotus) and rides on the lion. She has four hands and holds a Gada in the lower right hand,  a Chakra in the upper right hand, a lotus flower in the lower left hand and a Shankha in the upper left hand.

Her glory and power are infinite and worshipping Maa Siddhidatri on the final day (the ninth day) of Navaratri bestows all Siddhis to Her devotees and also marks the successful completion of the Navaratri festival.

Lord Siva obtained all siddhis by the blessings of Siddhidatri that made his half Devi and Glorified him with the name "Ardha Narishwar".
Siddhi makes the person highly eminent and  glorified. After obtaining siddhi human beings observe enhancement in their charisma.

The auspicious ninth day of Navaratri Puja is specially dedicated to Devi Siddhidatri. Her glory is bound less. There is no any type of wish remain after worshipping her solely.

She ends greed and unnecessary temptation towards material comforts.
Pray Goddess Siddhidatri and get her immense blessings.

At a spiritual level Divine Knowledge, Learnings and Meditation brings One into Awareness and Realization of the Ashta Siddhi. This Awareness and Realization brings One into being a Brahma Gyaani - The One Who Merges into Universal Consciousness experiencing Oneness.

Mantra :
OM HREEM SHRI SIDDHIDATARAIYE DURGAAYE NAMAAH

Meaning : I surrender my doubting mind, judging intellect and discriminating ego to dissolve into the Divine Energies of Maa that lead me into Awareness and Realization of the Siddhis.

Jai Maa Siddhidatri.

Importance of Day 8 of Navratri

Day 8 of Navratri
On the 8th Day Ma manifested as Mahagauri - The Greatest Fair One.

According to legend, after Parvati completed her penance in order to be married to Shiva, her body turned black. Shiva cleansed her entire body with the waters of the River Ganga which made her complexion fair, bright and glowing and so she has been given this name.

Maha Gauri eighth avatar  of Goddess Durga who is worshipped on this day. She is regarded for forgiving the sins of her devotees and also helping them to get purified. The goddess is dressed in Peacock Green colour on Durga Ashtami. On this day, Saraswati Mata Puja is conducted whole-heartedly and Pink is regarded as the colour of the day for all the devotees.

Mahagauri Ma is prayed to for her purity and innocence and wish fulfillment generosity. On this day of Navratri as part of the celebration, 9 young girls are fed and gifted.

At a spiritual level, the ritual of feeding the 9 girls is a means to overcoming and dissolving the 9 blocks that stand between you and your childlike innocence - Guilt, Anger, Greed, Lust, Miserliness, Insecurity, Fear, Jealousy, Hatred. Annadaan  (gifting of food) is the best way to clear away karmic burdens of lifetimes that nurture the 9 blocks.

Thus, when you feed the 9 girls, whether you did fast through the 9 days or not, do so with gratitude to the little girls who have given you an opportunity to erase the blocks and connect you with your pure inner child...

Mantra :

OM HREE SHRI MAHAGAURIYAYE NAMAH

Meaning : I surrender my doubting mind, judging intellect and Discriminating Ego to dissolve into my childlike innocence to Romance life as it happens.

Colour of the Day : Pink 💗

Jai Mata Di

Importance of Day 7 of Navratri

Day 7 of Navratri

On this day Ma appears in the form of Kaalratri. This form of Ma is extremely powerful and intolerant of evil. The 7th day of Navaratri is dedicated to Maa Kalratri, the 7th Avtar of Maa Durga. Here, Kaal means time and death and Kaalratri means the One who is the Death of Kaal.

Maa Kalratri destroys ignorance and brings light into the dark. Well, this form also depicts the dark side – the super power that creates havoc and removes all things bad and dirty. But to Her devotees, She brings calmness and courage.

Maa Kaalratri has dark complexion. Donkey is Her mount, She has bountiful hair and four hands. One of the two left hands holds a cleaver and the other holds a torch, and the right two hands are in “giving” and “protecting” mudras. She has three eyes emanate rays like lightning and Her necklace is shining like thunder. When She inhales and exhales air, flames appear through Her nostrils.

Maa teaches us that sorrow, pain, decay, destruction and death are unavoidable and cannot be ignored. These are the truths of life and denying them is futile. We must accept their presence and significance to realise the fullness of our being and our potential
Shri KAALA RATRI DEVI (Shubhamkari)

Ma appeared in this form to destroy the demon Raktabeej. Raktabeej created havoc for all. It was almost next to impossible to destroy him as every drop of blood of his that would fall to the ground would manifest into his embodiment. Only the furious form of Ma could destroy him.

At a spiritual level this form of Ma empowers us to destroy all the negative within us and around us.

Tolerating and accepting any form of violence or abuse - physical, mental, emotional - is the greatest injustice you do to yourself.

By coming into awareness of this form of Ma you destroy that weak and emotional self rooted in attachments that breed fear and insecurity and disrespect. And this brings about a new happy beginning.

Ma in this form also empowers you to stand up against all evil happening around you.

Mantra:

OM HREEM SHRI KAALRATRI DURGAAYE  NAMAH

Meaning : I surrender my doubting mind, judging intellect and Discriminating Ego to dissolve into releasing my weak self that attracts violence and abuse in any form as well as stand up courageously against all evil around me in order to merge into my pure self.

Colour of the Day : White, Red & Blue

Importance of Day 5 of Navratri

Day 5 of Navratri

Skandamata is the 5th manifestation of Maa Durga and is considered to be the destroyer of demons and demonic forces. The 5th day of Navratri is dedicated to Skandamata  who is also the mother of  Lord Kartikeya. Kartikeya was chosen by the devatas as their commander in chief in the war against the demons. The image of Devi Skandamata portrays Her holding Lord Skanda in his infant form and a lotus in her right hand. She has four arms, three eyes and a bright complexion. She is also called as Padamasani since She is often depicted seated on a lotus flower in a her idol. She is also worshiped in the form of Parvati, Maheshwari or Mata Gauri. The left arm of the goddess is in a pose to grant boons with grace to her devotees.
The legend says that Tarkasur, a great demon, once pleased Lord Brahma with his great devotion and extremely tough penance. He asked Lord Brahma to shower His blessings and make him immortal. Lord Brahma denied him this blessing, saying none can escape death. Tarkasur acted smart and asked for the death by the son of Lord Shiva, since he thought Lord Shiva would never get married. Tarkasur started tormenting the people on the earth. Fearing his strength would cause destructions, the devatas requested Lord Shiva to get married. He agreed and married Goddess Parvati. Their child, Lord Kartikeya/ Skand Kumar, demolished Tarkasur. Devi Skandmata is a symbol of the mother-son relationship.
By worshipping Her, you get immense love and affection from her and gets all his desires fulfilled. You may attain supreme joy even in this very mortal world. Her worship automatically includes the worship of Lord Kartikeya (in his child form).
Chant this mantra to worship Goddess Skandamata…
सिंघासनगता नित्यम पद्माश्रितकरद्वया |
शुभदास्तु सदा देवी स्कन्द माता यशश्विनी ||
Siṅghāsanagatā nityama padmāśritakaradvayā |
śubhadāstu sadā dēvī skanda mātā yaśaśvinī ||

Day 3 of Navratri

On attaining Her Union with Shiva, Ma Brahmacharini came into the form of Chandraghanta Ma - Her form as the wife of Shiva (Parvati).

In this form Chandraghanta Ma represents the strength and courage of Shakti as a wife and mother. She is given the name Chandraghanta as She has a bell - shaped half moon on her head. This bell when rung is so loud that it scares away all evil. She is pure and radiant, and yet when the need arises She allows Her anger to ward away all the negativity.

As Chandraghanta Ma, She reminds us that silently tolerating injustice and any type of violence is cowardice. Use your voice against all evil. Be courageous and be strong. Protect your Inner Child.

As a wife she represents prosperity and abundance.

Life is about the balance between your physical manifestation and spiritual journey.
